My Story

Oct 29, 2020

It’s me, Amy!

I wanted to introduce myself & tell you what I have been up to lately to see if it could help you fast track your real estate business using the proven strategies & systems we have perfected.

I have been blessed to build the business of my dreams over the last 20 years & have helped thousands of clients navigate & exceed their real estate goals. I have assisted & mentored my agents & employees to find financial freedom they never knew possible. I lead the highest producing real estate team in S.D. (since 2017) & am personally the highest producing agent in the state. Our team ranked number 125 in the United States for our 2018 closed sales & the Wall Street Journal, Real Trends ranked us as one of America's Best Brokerages this year and will have served over 585 families this year.

My husband & I own a team model brokerage & have grown our market share by leaps & bounds each & every year.  We have built a system centric, client focused business positioning us as our clients lifetime home support team.

(My hunky hubby & I on the boat-our happy place)

But, here is the sad truth that will make me so very easy to judge;  at times, this was all accomplished at the detriment of the ones I love most; my kids, my husband, my family, my friends & even my body. I have missed more of my children's events, games & parties that I can even care to think of. My marriage has been pushed to the bottom of priorities, been nearly broken, been fixed, then broken again, mended... you see the trend. My friends (who have stuck around) & my family (they are stuck with me, so….) have been robbed of my time & presence year after year. My body has been pushed to the max with secondary infertility & seven miscarriages, likely from the massive amounts of stress, lack of sleep & taking care of it myself physically & mentally. You will cringe when you read this next part, but I actually started miscarrying one time while writing a purchase agreement & instead of doing the sane thing and going into the hospital, I stayed, while in massive contractions, until it was all signed...yes, gasp.

That, my friends, is not a way to live. I knew I had to change my business model. I knew I needed even better systems & checklists, a Lifetime Lead Strategy ™, defined unique value propositions & affiliate revenue.

And it WORKED! It allowed us to scale beyond our wildest dreams & that is what I want for you. I want you to be able to enjoy the same type of success without having to recreate the wheel or lose time with your loved ones & be able to benefit from our mistakes. I have created a gap-free, blueprint model for growing your real estate business. All of our proven success systems, lead generation methods, team growth & scaling strategies, verified value propositions & affiliate income avenues, available to you to copy & paste into your real estate business.

Not interested in growing a team? No problem. Our Lifetime Lead Strategy ™ alone will change the way you do business forever. Not to mention our tried & true checklists giving you a repeatable excellence standard for each & every client. Every mistake I have made or heard or seen another agent make lives within these checklists ensuring it never happens again, as well as streamlines your efficiencies so you can help more clients.

Friends, I have a proven step-by-step roadmap for you to grow your real estate business fast & efficiently.  You want in?  Are you done playing small & ready to start playing big?

Do you want to get to know me a little better before you decide? Well, here is the truth, the whole truth & nothing but the truth, so help me God:

I have an untamable love affair with Florida. I LOVE beaches, all of them, sunsets, all of them, baseball, being outside & being active & of course my AMAZING kiddos & hubster & my honey-bunny golden retriever, Cooper. I could eat nachos for every meal, pinot noir or a clean margarita are near and dear & creating & implementing gives me a warm, fuzzy every time.

I can’t stand being too cold, HATE chili on nachos, I mean come on, & I have a healthy fear of elevators & disorganization drives.me.fricken.BANANAS!!

(My Love Bugs!!!)

(Makes my heart so very happy)

(Cooper also makes my heart so very happy)

I started out in the real estate world over 20 years ago straight out of college not knowing what in the heck I wanted to do with my life. My dad owned a real estate brokerage at the time & even though when I was 16 years old he told me, after finding out I got a tattoo of a butterfly on my ankle (yeah, I was super original), that no one would want to hire a girl with tattoos, he hired me. $24K/year for an admin job in a dark office in the back of the building. I learned as much as I could from the ground up & within 18 months I talked him into getting my real estate license to become a buyers agent for my step-mom. Teams were just starting to become a “thing” about that time.

I fell in love with the entire process immediately. I loved being of service to people at such a fun & exciting time in their lives & I also loved finding solutions for clients during the not-so-fun part of their lives. I loved knowing I could help meet their goals. I loved the marketing, the creating, the living breathing checklists I was creating, the sky’s-the-limit potential, all of it.

I immediately wanted to do it on my own. Then, the best thing that could happen to an oldest child with EXTREME Type A (borderline adult ADD) tendencies happened: I was told I couldn’t make it on my own. It was too hard, it cost too much money, it wasn’t a smart idea, I didn’t have what it takes...the list was long on why I shouldn’t take the jump.

Granted, those that told me these things loved me & did it from a place of love.  I was pregnant with my first kiddo & the days of borrowing money from my parents was fairly fresh. I can see their point now. Either way, it was the fire I needed.

I took the leap. I asked Adam to trust me. I said those words A LOT. He did (bless him). I worked very hard, invested a lot of hours & paid a big tuition to the accredited University of Life with a major in Trial & Error.

I was a colossal pregnant woman. You know, the ice cream every night type of pregnant woman. My cheeks were so rosy they looked like they were going to bust open. But I hustled. I took every floor time slot available, any open house I could get my hands on, read almost every book & article I could find. I had a logo created for $400 (it felt like $4000 back then) & I branded EVERYTHING.

I picked up an investor from California who came into town to look at investment properties under $100K. I showed him over 20 homes in the middle of August in two days while I was seven months pregnant, doing it all in heels.  He bought 5 properties & I felt like I hit the lottery.

Our son Logan was born. He attended his first closing at two weeks young & I was able to keep him with me while I worked for the first five months. It was magical, but not as much work got done as did cuddles. I regret none of it though.

(Logan, 16 years later....where did the time go?!?)

My “Why’s” were big & all B’s actually.  We were very close to being Broke. Five months working part-time was not cutting it. I had a very adorable Baby to help provide for & I had a giant Burn in my Belly to make something out of my life. A burning I couldn’t shut off if I tried.

I sold 24 homes my first year as a single agent. It was mediocre at best. I needed more systems, so I created & implemented like a crazy person. I brought on my first buyer's agent, my beautiful sissy Stacy, within 18 months & then added a full time assistant to replace our overworked part time assistant.

We would run 15-25 open houses a weekend & would spend half the day Friday “out-signing” our competition with open house signs & paraphernalia. We worked insane hours seven days a week & survived on what we called “The Realtor Diet” of beef jerky, sunflower seeds, Mountain Dew & oodles of water (or we would be dead from all the sodium).

I added more agents slowly & then in 2009, my husband, Adam, left the banking world to help grow The Amy Stockberger Team. This happened to be the same time the mortgage crisis hit South Dakota. Our area did not take the hit nearly as hard as the rest of the nation, but with the absence of a reliable income, the responsibility of employees & a small kiddo at home, we felt the pressure. More times than I can tally, we would look at each other, exhausted after a long day that rolled into the evening & know what the other was thinking: “What in the heck did we do?”

That time stretched us & we had to pivot. We tried new things, missed the mark countless times, tried more new things, failed again, but kept trying. We grew from it because we didn’t have any other option. Quitting wasn’t on the table.

We grew by close to 300% the first year Adam joined me. It was amazing & uber addictive. My creating & implementing brain was on fire & I added as many unique value propositions I could get my steady Red Light (the name I call Adam since I am always the Green Light, so Adam has no other choice) to let me add to our business model.

In 2013, we had 6 agents, 2 staff members & started our transaction & listing coordination departments. In 2015 we added an inside sales department & began to grow even more. Every time we’ve added employees, we’ve scaled to a whole new level.

During those years we were trying to expand our little family of three to a family of four, however the odds were not in our favor. Having Logan when I was 27 was somewhat easy. Now well into my 30s, the term geriatric was thrown around at each fertility appointment. For those who don't know, that is accurate in the fertility world & my body was in the legit geriatric time frame.

We ended up doing each & every step they suggested; tracking, pills, IVF's, surgeries but my body said no to each. All to the tune of 7 miscarriages.

I was still running a million miles a minute. With each miscarriage, I worked through the grief by throwing myself into my work. It was my shield that filled my mind to drain out the sadness from each loss. If my body couldn't work the way it was supposed to, I made sure I was in control of the things I could control which were continued growth, more & better systems, & happy clients, agents & staff.

Needless to say, we closed the chapter on another kiddo & pressed forward. We already had a heck of a good one anyway.

(The OG’s)

God laughed. In January of 2016, we got pregnant, no IVF, no nothing. Bewildered, excited & scared is how that year started. By the end of March, I lost the baby. After that last loss, we both agreed to give adoption a try. We would give it to the end of 2016 & if we weren’t chosen, then that would be God's will.

By June, a sweet momma thousands of miles away told us she was picking us to raise her baby boy. Over.The.Moon. Legend Isaiah was born in September of that year. Almost exactly 9.5 months after learning we were pregnant that year. God is so good!!

(first time holding my sweet babe, Legend)

By this time we were still working under an independent broker, but we were thinking outside of the box at each corner & continuing to be the leaders in our market as a team.

In 2019, we opened up our own brokerage with a team business model, we call it our Team-erage. We also moved into the building of our dreams where we have our signature One Roof solution where we have a myriad of services and features under one roof to help our clients save time, stress and money. From an in-house lender, to insurance, a builder, property management, interior designer to in-house climate controlled storage units, moving supplies and party and tool shed supplies and more.

2020 was our best year yet as we were able to assist over 586 families. We couldn’t be more proud!

BUT, I 100% feel if I had a roadmap, a blueprint to copy & paste, our business would be far bigger than it is now. Had I embraced the full power of Lifetime Lead Strategy™ , had a proven system for scaling, systems & affiliate revenue to model we would have soared so much sooner & with so much more efficiently.

Which is why we are creating all of these no-gap, copy & paste bundles for you to grow your business. I would love to see you soar & get to enjoy your friends & family & serve your clients to the nth degree AT THE SAME TIME!!!!
